Topographix is a cool new tech I have been developing for the past few days. It will most likely eventually make its way to the QubaHQ tutorials, but not before we make something new using it with my team. The tool is still in early alpha, but already kicks some major ass and se should start doing some testing early next week.

In this episode I will share with you a simple After Effects preset I designed to help me stick 2D layers to a variety of sources without the need for parenting. While the technique itself is trivially simple, I will explain in-depth the mechanism behind the script and walk you through a number of examples of how it can be used.

_convo is a result of me continuing to mess around with my Chromatic Aberration Kit. It's one of these things that simply sort of happened. Not quite large to make a big piece out of them, but cool enough not to discard.

For the 2012 launch of the new Nexus family of devices, we imagined a playful world of Google services interacting around a stack of devices. Following the success of the first Nexus Playground video, we were then asked to create a series of sequels, each talking about a particular type of experience Nexus can provide to its users. The films below were originally published inside rich media banners, as a part of Google's 2012/2013 Nexus: The Playground is Open campaign.

Spin by ASD

Ever since my first Commodore 64, I have been an avid follower of the demoscene. For many years groups like Fairlight, Kewlers, The Black Lotus, Orange, Farbrausch and more recently ASD (Andromeda Software Development) have been pushing the art of realtime graphics into new extremes.
While entertaining to watch however, demos usually had a tendency to lack in the art direction department. The would excel in cool visual effects, pumping more and more graphics at better framerates and higher resolutions - but being primarily created by coders, not artists, the majority were more of a technical showcase rather than an artistic pursuit. In the recent years, the new breed of demos started emerging - one where art and code truly go hand in hand. One that can easily rival the amazing vfx and motion design pieces from the world renown motion design directors.
