I am currently working on the new reel for imago and while digging in the project archives I came across this this test render for One Man Show – a piece I made back in 2008. Using Trapcode Particular and three Photoshop layers I created a large scale meadow that, honestly speaking, didn’t get enough exposure in the finished piece.
If you were hoping for the new QubaHQ tutorial this weekend, you will need to wait just a bit more. I am bit busy with the projects at the moment, plus it’s over 32°C and humid in here at the moment, making my brain melt from the heat.

Did the depth of field get narrower at the end because it was getting near the edge of the field?
Nope – the DoF is static in this piece. The effect becomes more pronounced simply because the camera pans down and gets some really close grass blades in the frame.
The field is actually quite huge, with the set falloff, so that the computer won’t die trying to render too much distance.
is there a tutorial for this? :O i really like it
I never made the tutorial for this – maybe sometime I will. The whole setup is quite simple, and not really multi-purpose so I am not sure this is something worth “tutorializing”.
any chance you could provide the project file? would love to see how its setup. i’m just trying to learn ae and particularly particular. say that 5 times fast.
Wow this is a very great example of the Praticular use. I would also really like to see a tutorial for it someday.
