Nexus 7: Android Multiuser

I’ve been asked to create a short vignette showcasing the multiuser capacity of Android operating system that would live on the Nexus 7 web page. I decided to abstract the concept of multiple users sharing the device and build a video around the practical split-screen composition.

Visually, we kept the look of the rest of Nexus 7 creative (top-down photography), but figured that if it’s worth doing, it’s worth over-doing. Rather than shooting photographs and animating them in post, we filmed all the movements live, giving the scenes a sense of depth through the parallax effect.

A total of 10 archetypes were created, each with two sets filmed (left and right) – giving us 100 possible pairings. We filmed each of them using a camera suspended vertically from a dolly rail. Sharp, witty writing and smart compostiting closed the deal.
