These few renders are the result of several hours of messing around with Maya, the first time I got my hands on it. Except for trying out abstract 3D, I wanted to experiment with splitting the object into fragments that move at different speeds and then re-unite.
I reused the split technique later on in imago’s Nonsensuality.
Here is the Abstract Moxhito clip:
The sliders in lower-right corner are linked via expressions to the timing distortions of the clip. The rest of movement is generated procedurally.
