Back in 2004, shortly after establishing imago, I have created a series of 10 promotional wallpapers with cute 3D animals.
It would be the shame to let them disappear from the face of the Internet forever, especially since the readers of Bici Bee may recognize an early prototype of out beloved webcomic character on one of them. Full gallery after the break.
This is our one minute advertisement for the launch of Turkish Edition of The New York Times.
We constructed typographic versions of the most recognizable landmarks in Manhattan and Istanbul, and created a compact tour taking the audience from the New York Harbor all the way to the Bosphorus. Actual pages from the first issue of the newspaper were used to create the textures used in the scenes. The financial news page became NYSE and Wall Street, entertainment news turned into Times Square, and so on.
This project is more of an exercise in editing, rather than your typical motion graphics. It was commisioned by Alametifarika for the launch of a new double credit card service of Garanti’s Shop&Miles.
The video features various stock clips synchronized with the music – each clip has its corresponding audio fragment. As the audio clips get mixed together, so do the videos.
The original rebranding of Beko’s identity was fairly conservative when it came to changes in the look of TV commercial. Now, that the new ID has been widely accepted, we were tasked with updating the style of the TVCs.
Right away we replaced the original dark background with much more fresh, bright design. Next, we got rid of straight lines with parallel/perpendicular design and introduced bends and twists to the colored stripes (the basic element of brand’s ID). We also updated the end-tag with a cleaner, shiny globe and some other minor tweaks.

The animation was constructed from a single photograph of the plane, original design of the card and a whole bunch of subtle lighting and particle effects.
During the recent re-branding and identity change of the BEKO brand, we have been tasked with preparing the motion part of the new ID.
The project consisted of two phases: First we developed a new end-tag to be used by all of BEKO’s TV commercials. The tag went through several iterations until finally arriving at its final form in February 2009. Second, we created a Promotion Commercial template – a base upon which all the subsequent BEKO commercials advertising sale promotions will be built.
A short television commercial for Garanti Bank’s &mag magazine.
We initially planned to animate this piece in After Effects, but switched to Maya in the middle of the process in order to give the magazine appearance some extra realism.
This short, 30-second ad was prepared for display at Kanyon shopping center. The agency approached us with a ready concept, and we put this little video together in just two days.
Truth be said, we spent half of the first day on watching the butterflies outside of the window (glad it’s Spring). This “research” allowed us to create a realistic wing and body movement for each of 15.000 butterflies featured in this video. Winged creatures are where CGI often falls short of realism, and we took special care not to make them look artificial.
This was another one of the “express” projects – scheduled to go on air mere hours before the start of the advertised sailing cup.
The basic design guidelines and the look of the campaign were already established by the agency in the print ads. We followed their concept featuring boat imagery and thin, repeating vector strokes. The series of stock videos were provided to us, as well. We threw them through some motion tracking and matchmoving, allowing us to integrate the graphic elements into the footage.
Between March and August 2008, Garanti Bank’s exclusive &club offered a promotion to it’s members; each month a couple would be flown to one of the six European destinations for a stay in an associated boutique hotel. With promotion already in place, we were approached to create a 30-second ad for the campaign.
Inspired by the cross-processed photos and CMYK printing, I have developed a visual effect for “digital polaroid”, based on the ink bleed transitions and used it to reveal the video over the course of a three minute song.
Nexus Q: Sweet, Smart is a little something something I cooked up a while ago for the launch of Google’s new media player. The product has been shelved, the video never produced, but I still have this kickass test.

AE64 is a tribute to the demoscene and to the legacy of world’s most popular microcomputer: Commodore 64.
While this video was created using the typical contemporary arsenal of tools (mainly After Effects and Cinema 4D), it conforms to most of the basic graphical limitations of the C64 such as a limited 16-color palette, low resolution, use of the overscan area etc. To maintain the spirit of the demo, I also created most of the effects using various scripts and code snippets, procedurally automating many of the tasks typically animated using keyframes.
