Nexus 7: Grandma

Nexus 7: Grandma is a video banner - a one minute visit to the wonderful world of grandparents, as seen through the eyes of a child. Following the tabletop aesthetic of Nexus 7 campaign, it abstracts the story into a series of carefully curated still life compositions. But I would not be myself if I stopped there...

Nexus 7: Android Multiuser

I've been asked to create a short vignette showcasing the multiuser capacity of Android operating system that would live on the Nexus 7 web page. I decided to abstract the concept of multiple users sharing the device and build a video around the practical split-screen composition.

Little Things with Long Domains

It's safe to say 2013 had a lot of Olivari in it. One of the series I previously did not publicize on QubaHQ was Little Things with Long Domains - a series of 12 infinite loops about some of the small joys of life.

Bowerbirds: August

Fireflies in an early evening.... It's probably no surprise that this video was vastly inspired by amazing photography of Yume Cyan. We combined simulated particle fireflies created with custom aperture sprites with a footage of the forrest and then revealed it with the mattes shot specifically for this project (as usual).

Bowerbirds: July

For the July Bowerbirds clip, I decided to try something new. I created a realistic model of the Moon, based on the elevation maps gathered by NASA and animated the illumination phases as the light (the Sun) traveled around in. Having been recently turned onto the Mystery Science Theater 3000 by Conor, I then stylized it to look and feel like a stop motion project from the early days of Sci-Fi.
